Learn to Code in the Scratch programming language at one of these two introductory sessions. For kids who have completed at least 2nd grade and have basic mouse and keyboarding skills.

Kids, join us for one of these two FREE introductory sessions in learning to code in the Scratch programming language!

You'll complete two instructor-led exercises in Scratch, then have opportunity to play with the Scratch tool, with instructors available to answer questions. You'll even get a workbook to take home with an additional exercise.

No prior coding experience is needed, but participants must have completed at least 2nd grade and have basic reading, keyboarding, and mouse skills.

Parents/guardians are encouraged to sit with their student and follow along.

Space is limited to 12 participants, and you must sign up in advance, either through the website or by calling the Decatur Public Library Children's Desk at 217-424-2900 ext. 5. Both sessions are identical, so please register for only one.
