Meet Alissa T.

Favorite Book/Author

My favorite books are Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll, The Giver by Lois Lowry, Dune by Frank Herbert and Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett.

Special Interests

I enjoy Science Fiction, Fantasy, Historical Fiction, and have recently developed a hunger for Non-Fiction.

I might have been born and raised in Decatur, Illinois, but I have always lived in a book. Even at the young age of 5, I knew I wanted to be a librarian. Since then, I have been a medical, an academic, a corporate and a public librarian. I graduated from the U of I, Champaign-Urbana with a Bachelor in English and a Master of Library and Information Science. Most recently, I have worked in the children's section at Decatur Public Library for 10 years before growing up and moving to the adult section. My proudest accomplishment is co-creating READiculous with my friend and co-worker, Susan Bishop. We have been story-acting since 2011 and have performed over 250 shows for over 35,000 people!

Physically, I am here. Mentally, I’m in a galaxy far, far away…
