Special Interests

I am that which your mother warned you about...a transplanted Buckeye! Born in Columbus, OH and raised in a sleepy little suburb of Toledo. It's really true what they say, "you CAN take the girl out of Ohio, but you CAN'T take the Ohio out of the girl." I have lived in Michigan, Indiana and now Illinois and enjoy making friends wherever I go. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in creative writing from Bowling Green State University (Bowling Green, OH) and a Master of Science in Communications from Grand Valley State University (Allendale, MI). I have worked in advertising agencies, a public broadcasting station and never in a million years thought I would work at the library. I love helping patrons find the books and movies they can't wait to borrow and telling them about my favorites. I am also a freelance writer and talk radio junkie. Travel, food, friends, family, football, writing and trying new things are my hobbies. So much left to see and do on my list -- Paris, publish a novel, earn a PhD and watch the Cleveland Browns play in a Super Bowl!

"The art of writing is the art of discovering what you believe."

Gustave Flaubert
