Making books come alive!
The Decatur Public Library loves showing kids how READiculously fun reading books aloud and together can be! READiculous brings books to life with their story-acting program.
READiculous brings the library to your school and makes books come alive. READiculous encourages kids to grab their grownup and visit the library, as well as get a library card of their own.
And here is something else READiculous! We bring our assembly to Decatur schools and it is FREE! Not a Decatur school? Call or email to discuss a field trip to the Decatur Public Library to see READiculous.
We are booking for the 2022/2023 school year. Schedule a READiculous visit at your school, or a presentation to your organization, by calling (217) 424-2900 ext. 5 or emailing READiculous@decaturlibrary.org.
Every year from 2011 to 2019 we launched a new show, which we performed for our DPL Summer Reading Programs and at area grade schools and other venues. We are excited to return with a new program summer 2022! You can see videos from over 60 different books performed at past programs on our YouTube channel: Really READiculous.
READiculous, JR is a reader’s theater/creative dramatics program led by READiculous’ Susan Bishop and Alissa Henkel. READiculous, JR returned in the fall of 2022 with the students who missed the spring 2020 class. Watch for more READiculous, JR classes to be offered in 2023!
