Meet the Critters from the Scovill Zoo

Meet and learn about these animals from the Scovill Zoo at the library! Registration opens May 13.

Do you like visiting the Scovill Zoo to see the amazing animals? You'll LOVE the chance to get up close and learn about some of them in these summer programs at the library, all presented by staff from the Scovill Zoo.

Thanks to the Friends of the Decatur Public Library for sponsoring these programs!

Scovill Mobile Zoo -- Wednesday, May 29, 10 a.m. - 12 noon -- Children's Department

Our friends from the zoo will bring a variety of animals that kids can learn about, get close to, and even touch! Come anytime from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.

Space is limited for the programs below, so advance registration is required. Click on the program date to register.

Animal Senses (for Pre-K) -- Monday, July 1, 10 - 10:30 a.m. -- Children's Auditorium

Zoo staff will present selected animals one at a time so kids can learn, discuss, and possibly touch, as they learn about how animals sense the world around them. This program is for pre-K kids, 3 to 5 years old. Space is limited, so advance registration is required.

Animal Senses (for Elementary Grades) -- Monday, July 1, 11:00 a.m.- 11:45 a.m. -- Children's Auditorium

Zoo staff will present selected animals one at a time so kids can learn, discuss, and possibly touch, as they learn about how animals sense the world around them. This program is for elementary school aged kids, 6 years old and up. Space is limited, so advance registration is required.
